Tae Kwon Do
Taekwondo is a very specific form of martial arts that was created in Korea.
The word tae means ”foot,” kwon means ”fist,” and do means ”the way” or ”discipline.”
The word taekwondo loosely means ”the proper way of using one’s fists and feet.”
A very important principle in taekwondo is that of calmness, peacefulness, and preventing and stopping fights.
According to the taekwondo philosophy, a person should use his or her body (particularly feet and fists) to stop fights and establish peace.
What Taekwondo can do
Enhance self-esteem by heightening your physical and mental powers.
Build confidence by encouraging you to succeed and to take control of your life.
Develop discipline by thoroughly training your body and mind in the tenets and techniques of Taekwondo.
Teach self-defense by training you to recognize situations in which physical self-defense may be necessary, and teaching you how to control such situations to your advantage.
